Setting up your Gallery

How do I create my customized gallery URL?

Once your gallery membership is active, you will be asked to name your gallery.  Follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Click on “My Gallery.”
3. Type in the desired name for your gallery.
4. You will be asked to retype your gallery name and confirm that it is correct before you “Submit” your gallery name.
5. You cannot change your gallery name (i.e. URL) after it has been submitted.

 

You can give your gallery a name (i.e. davidsmithgallery).  Your gallery name will then become your own personal domain name.  Following this example, your domain name would be: www.maxgrumbachergallery.com/galleries/davidsmithgallery.

 

If your desired name is already being used by another artist, you will be asked to revise your gallery name before you can “Submit” your request.

 

Please note that you must use your legal name when you are filling out all other gallery information.

After you name your gallery, you can begin to set up collection files.  Click on “How do I create a new collection file?” for more details.

 

How many images can I upload to my gallery?

You can upload approximately 100 images (image capacity will vary based on the sizes of your uploaded images)

Can my gallery contain the artwork of another artist?

No.  Your gallery must be used for your artwork only.

 

Can an artist have more than one gallery?

No, each artist may only have one personal gallery within the Max Grumbacher Gallery.

 

Can I personalize my gallery by giving it a name?

Yes.  Click on “How do I create my customized gallery URL?” for more details.

Can I sell the artwork of and/or represent other artists in my Gallery?

No.  You cannot sell the artwork of another artist or represent another artist in your gallery. 

Uploading Digital Images To The Gallery

 

What is an acceptable file type for the images I upload to my gallery?

  • The uploaded file must be in a .jpg format.
  • The uploaded file must be a minimum of 300 dpi if you plan on offering Reproductions or poster prints.
  • The uploaded file must be in RGB Color Space.
  • The Reproduction options will be calculated based on the size and dimensions of your original uploaded file.

How do I create a new collection file?

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to “My Gallery.”
  3. Click on “My Collection Files.
  4. Click on the “Add New Collection File” thumbnail.
  5. Type in the name of your new collection file.
  6. Click on the “Create Collection File” button.

 

How do I upload images to my gallery?

  1. Log in to your gallery.
  2. Click on “My Gallery.”
  3. Choose “My Collection Files.”
  4. Click on the collection file thumbnail that you would like to add your artwork. If you do NOT have any collection files created, Click on “How do I create a new collection file?
  5. Click on the “Add New Artwork” thumbnail.
  6. Browse for the .jpg file.
  7. While your .jpg file is uploading, you should fill in all of the appropriate information for the image you are adding to your gallery (i.e. title, art style, description, etc.).
  8. After filling in the image information, click on the “Save” button.
  9. To upload your next image, click on the Add another piece of artwork to this collection button.

Please note that upload times will vary depending on your file size and your internet connection.

What information will I be asked to include for each image I upload?

  • Title
  • Art Style
  • Media of Artwork (e.g. oil on canvas, graphite on paper, stone sculpture, etc.)
  • Media Category(ies)
  • Subject(s)
  • Description
  • Image Tags
  • Collection File
  • Is the Original Artwork Available for Sale?
  • Price for Original Artwork
  • Original Artwork Dimensions
  • Original Artwork Sold As
  • Maximum Reproduction Print Size (“MRPS”)
  • Price for Reproductions

 

How do I set the prices for my Original Artwork and my Reproductions?

Price Setting Guidelines:

  • You are in control of determining the selling prices of your original artwork and Reproductions.

  • You may not offer your original artwork at a price equal to or less than the price of the Fine Art Reproductions, and Poster Prints listed in the Gallery
  • We encourage you, at your discretion, to increase the predetermined minimum price of all your Reproductions to properly reflect the appropriate pricing differential between your Original Artwork, your Fine Art Reproductions, and your Poster Prints.
    • You may increase (in fact, we encourage you to do so) the predetermined minimum price of your reproduction that was set by the Gallery.
    • However, you cannot decrease the predetermined minimum price set by the Gallery.
    • If you are selling Fine Art Reproductions and Poster Prints, your Poster Prints should be priced lower than your Fine Art Reproduction.

How do I rename a collection file?

  • Log in to your account.
  • Go to “My Gallery.”
  • Click on “My Collection Files.
  • Place your mouse or hover over the “collection” thumbnail that you wish to edit.
  • Click on the “pencil” icon in the upper left-hand corner of the thumbnail.
  • Type in the new name for your collection file.
  • Click on “Save.”

 

How do I delete a collection file?

  • Log in to your account.
  • Go to “My Gallery.”
  • Click on “My Collection Files” .
  • Place your mouse or hover over the “collection” thumbnail that you wish to delete.
  • Click on the “X” icon in the upper right-hand corner of the thumbnail.
  • Click on “OK” to confirm your request to delete the collection file.

 

Please note:  This will also delete all of the artwork in the collection file.

 

How do I edit artwork information that I have already uploaded into my gallery?

  • Log in to your gallery.
  • Click on “My Gallery.”
  • Click on the Collection File thumbnail that contains the image that you would like to edit.
  • Place your mouse or hover over the image that you would like to edit.
  • Click on the “pencil” icon in the upper left-hand corner of the thumbnail.
  • Edit the information as desired.
  •  Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

 

How do I delete a piece of artwork that I have already uploaded into my gallery?

  1. Log in to your gallery.
  2. Click on “My Gallery.”
  3. Click on the Collection File thumbnail that contains the image that you would like to delete.
  4. Place your mouse or hover over the image that you would like to delete.
  5. Click on the “X” in the upper right-hand corner of the thumbnail.

Click on “OK” to confirm your request to delete the piece of artwork from the gallery.

 

How many images can I upload at one time?

You can only upload one image at a time.  Once that image has been uploaded:

  • You must click on the “Save” button.
  • Click on "Add New Artwork," to upload your next piece of artwork.

How long does it take for an image to be uploaded to the Gallery?

Upload times will vary, depending on your file size and your internet connection

How do I move artwork, that I have already uploaded, to another collection file?

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on “My Gallery.”
  3. Click on the Collection File thumbnail that contains the image that you would like to move.
  4. Place your mouse or hover over the image that you would like to edit.
  5. Click on the “pencil” in the upper left-hand corner of the thumbnail.
  6. Use the Collection File drop-down box and choose the appropriate collection file for this image.
  7. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

 

Problems Uploading Images To The Gallery

Why can’t I upload my digital file?

There may be multiple reasons:
1. The file may be too small or too large.
2. Your file may be in the wrong format.
3. Your file may contain corrupted data.
4. You may have reached your membership’s image upload capacity.
5. You may have a faulty internet connection.

I uploaded my images.  Why can’t I see them in the gallery?

Your jpg file may be corrupted. Please re-save your jpg file and try uploading it again.

What is the “My Bio” section of the Gallery used for?

The “My Bio” section is the place for you to list information about your artwork and yourself.

 

What is the “My Reports” section of the Gallery used for?

The “My Reports” section contains reports that have information regarding your sales, shipments, payments for the sale of original artwork, commissions from the sale of Reproductions, and more.
