Artist Profile

About the Artist:
I have been painting as full time visual artist for the past 19 years and part time since 1989. I have had several solo shows over the years including ones at the Dunlop Branch Galleries in Regina, The Jo Moran Gallery, the Assiniboia Art Gallery. Although I predominantly paint commissioned portraits of childhood and family scenes, I have opportunity to paint many other subjects as I instruct art classes for Grumbacher Acrylics. I have been pleased to be instructing for them for the past 3 years in Regina, Canada and for the past 9 months in Saskatoon, Canada as well. Many of these works were inspired by my 2012 / 2013 Guest Artist's Residency in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Saskatchewan where I lead artworks shops for visitors to the park, conducted open studio time and worked on my own new body of work scenes of Cypress on copper. This residency was made possible through a Creative Partnerships Grant with The Friends of Cypress Hills Inc.; funded by the Sask. Arts Board and Sask. Lotteries. I was pleased to have been selected by jury to participate in the CARFAC Sask. Mentorship Program as a trainee under Iris Hauser of Saskatoon. Are you looking for an exciting new artist's work to feature in your gallery? Please contact me to discuss the possibilities. (portraits & Limited editions) (original landscapes on copper)

Artist Statement:
Art inspires me, gives me peace and purpose in my day. I am glad to share this love with my students. It has been a love of mine since I was a child and I hope to be painting long into my twilight years.
